Whispering Pines ‘Things for the Cabin’ has been a family owned and operated business since 1988. It is the premier catalog and online site for rustic home goods, gifts and vintage style.Whispering Pines reflects our connection to an American rustic lifestyle shaped by summers spent at our family cabin in Northern Wisconsin...a place we all return to still and have our seasonal Trading Post. As sisters we have had the pleasure of raising our children and business together. We enlisted the aid of husbands, children, in-laws and friends to help as we grew from a small storefront in Piermont, New York into a catalog business serving a global audience.
And now we have the pleasure to inspire and be inspired by the next generation. Our children have brought their considerable talents to the business and in turn have attracted other young talent to the company. We are energized every day by their creativity, enthusiasm and hard work.
They have gone from reluctant models in the catalog to catalog management. Maggie Panian Lord keeps the operation humming and stays on top of the technical challenges of managing the website and our extensive inventory. She is also the founder and editor of the popular blog Rustic Wedding Chic. Eddie Panian contributes his extensive knowledge of SEO, programming, and marketing. Missy Johnson (above working with Mickey at a recent photo shoot) keeps us ahead of the trends, curating great products, redefining rustic style and interpreting design in new and exciting ways. Charlie Panian brings his creative talents through photography, styling, graphics and attitude. And Maggie Carson Romano, a gifted artist and photographer has created many of the beautiful images you see in the catalog.
And last but not least we want to acknowledge the Whispering Pines community of customers, craftspeople & manufacturers whose good taste, imagination, integrity and loyalty have helped us grow over the past 20 years.
We have always believed a cabin is a “state of mind”…a place where you and the people you love feel at home…a place where memories and traditions are established and grow for generations. We are grateful to have a company that reflects that very same belief.
