Welcome back after a long weekend, I hope everyone enjoyed their BBQ's and get togethers over the holiday weekend. It was really great weather out here on the east coast and I hope you got some nice weather wherever you are. Today I wanted to show off a wonderful red, white and blue themed board but instead of the classic "Americana" look that those colors can bring, this board bring a sense of whimsy.

I guess the point of this red, white and blue theme is that you can use these colors without it having to be a 4th of July wedding!

  So for the last few weeks I have been showing off some wonderful bridal shower inspirations in preparation for the bridal shower I am throwing for my sister in law. Today's inspiration board shows off a great light purple with a lovely green touch. This color theme would look wonderful at this time of year and helps to make a shower look famine but without being over the top.

Today's real wedding comes to us actually from a friend of mine who just happens to summer in the same small town that I do. This great young couple really took their inspiration from the surroundings and made their wedding in the Northwoods looks amazing!

I love the idea of taking sticks and making this cool sign...such a great idea!

This is really cool, Claire and Steve gave each table a name of one of the lakes in the area and then posted everyone who would be sitting at the table on this fun board.

Ever since the weather started to get nice my mind has started to wander towards things like sitting on the pier, taking long sunset boat rides and really anything that has to do with water I thought today's blog should have the same theme. Today's inspiration board can be used for a wedding but I think would be a great theme for an engagement party, you know, the whole "sail away" together type of feel.This type of party would look great in a backyard, on someone's boat or even just on the beach.  I have the wonderful pleasure of hosting a bridal shower for my sister in law next month so I thought it would be fun to show off some bridal shower ideas. The first thing that I will say about hosting a bridal shower is make sure you don't go it alone... get the bridesmaids involved, the brides friends and family... the more people who are there helping put the pieces together the more fun it will be! The second thing I would say about hosting a shower is make sure you keep the brides taste and style in mind when you are picking out thing for the day. My sister in law's wedding colors are blue and green so I am playing up the blue and green theme for the shower as well. Below is just one example of a great bridal shower inspiration board.
