Today's real wedding took place in Kansas City at the Ironwoods Lodge. The reason I picked this wedding today was because it has a pure, simple and classic look to it in a rustic location.

With the summer wedding season almost here it can only mean one thing... bridal shower time. When throwing a bridal shower I think it is important to remember the brides style and not let your own take over. Any one else remember the Sex and the City episode where Charlotte is throwing a shower for Miranda and Miranda wants fried chicken served and Charlotte says no way would she ever throw a shower where fried chicken is the main dish... eventually Charlotte came around to the idea that it was supposed to be all about Miranda and what she wants (but not without an ugly fight first). Save yourself a fight and let the bride's style take center stage and have yours take a backseat... not easy but necessary. Here are some wonderful bridal shower invites that would make any bride happy. All of these invites come from Minted.

I have a really fun Do It Yourself project for making fun table numbers which I found at Once Wed. These table numbers would be great for an outdoor wedding since not only would the they fit your decor but they could also be very helpful with keeping tablecloths from flying in the wind. If these are not perfect for your wedding decor think about using then for your rehearsal dinner. My husband and I had our rehearsal dinner outside and these would have been perfect and a fun project to do leading up to the big day.
The possibility are endless with what you can fill the jars with: pine cones, shells, wine corks, candy etc...
Instructions
1) Clean jars and lids thoroughly and
remove all labels. Soaking them in soapy water will make easy work of
this, though occasionally a stubborn label will leave a residue. Goo
Gone will take care of whatever you can’t scrub off
2) Print out numbers and cut down along dotted lines. Use a piece of double-sided tape to stick number to the inside of glass
3) Trace over number with white paint pen. Allow to dry a good 5-10
minutes, then go back and paint a second layer until number is opaque
4) Roll a piece of paper into a funnel (or just use a funnel if you have one) and pour sand into jars until almost full.

Today's real wedding come to us from the west coast as it took place at the Golden Gates Park in Seattle. This wedding has a very cool laid back and vintage vibe. One of the coolest parts of this wedding which you may want to incorporate into your big day is how the bride wore a wrap sweater over her dress which seems to add to the vintage feel. Also take note of the chalkboard where it lists all of the guest and their table...a very fun idea which you can easily duplicate.

Recently I have seen this recipe talked about everywhere from the Today Show to almost every wedding blog so I wanted to share because I thought it is a cute and fun idea and if nothing else at least a good meal. The legend goes if you make Engament Chicken for dinner it will help your significant other pop the question! The original recipe was seen in Glamour Magazine and dates back 26 years.
1. Position an oven rack in the upper third of the oven and preheat the oven to 400°F. Remove the giblets from the chicken, wash the chicken inside and out with cold water, then let the chicken drain, cavity down, in a colander for 2 minutes.
2. Pat the chicken dry with paper towels. Place the chicken breast-side down in a medium roasting pan fi tted with a rack and pour the lemon juice all over the chicken, both inside and out. Season the chicken all over with salt and pepper inside and out.
3. Prick 2 whole lemons three times each in three different places with a fork and place them deep inside the cavity. Chicken cavity size may vary, so if one lemon is partly sticking out, that’s fine. (Tip: If the lemons are stiff, roll them on the countertop with your palm before pricking to get the juices flowing.)
4. Put the chicken in the oven, lower the oven temperature to 350°F, and roast, uncovered, for 15 minutes.
5. Remove the roasting pan from the oven. Using tongs or two wooden spoons, turn the chicken breast- side up. Insert a meat thermometer in the thigh, and return the chicken to the oven and roast for about 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes or until the meat thermometer reads 180°F and the juices run clear when the thigh is pricked with a fork. Continue roasting if necessary. Keep in mind that cooking times in different ovens vary; roasting a chicken at 350°F takes approximately 18-20 minutes per pound, plus an additional 15 minutes.
6. Let the chicken rest for 10 minutes before carving. And here’s the secret: Pour the juices from the roasting pan on top of the sliced chicken— this is the “marry me juice.” Garnish with fresh herbs and lemon slices.

With the Easter holiday here and the warmth of Spring I thought I would show off a fun pastel color pallet I found to help get you in the egg coloring mood. The fun soft colors can look great at a garden or outdoor wedding and speak to a enchanted ethereal type of feel. The butter & pink colors work so well together and play off of the warm gray color perfectly.

I have some all new Bridesmaid dresses for you today that I think are a perfect fit for a spring/summer wedding. I think both the short and long styles that are in this season fit many wedding venues and don't look like the traditional unwearable again bridesmaid dresses of the past. All of these dresses come from Ann Taylor's Wedding Collection and come in some stunning colors.
This first dress would look amazing at a garden or outdoor wedding...especially in the color. I think the cut of this dress is so flattering. I would buy this dress to be a wedding guest as well.
Love the neckline of this dress which really shows off the sophistication of this dress and would be perfect for a morning or afternoon affair.
Classic and chic this has big city wedding written all of it to me.
This navy blue long dress screams beach or seaside wedding to me. Love the layered ruffle look.
Having an evening wedding... this bridesmaid dress maybe the one for your girls!
